WHERE ARE MY ITEM'S MODEL AND SERIAL/PO NUMBERS?

Both the model number and serial/PO number are printed on our product label.

  • For cribs, this label is located on the inner right side panel at mattress level.
  • For dressers and most changers, it is located on the back panel. If the back panel is installed backwards, the label may be situated on the inside of the dresser/changer.
  • For changers with no drawers or back panel, the label is located on one of the shelf boards.

Please note as different types and runs of products may have different numbering formats, your serial/PO number format may differ from the format below. The location of the label remains the same however.

WHAT HEIGHT SHOULD I SET MY CRIB'S MATTRESS SUPPORT AT?

Generally, the highest level is for newborns. Once your baby can roll over, sit up, or push up onto their hands and knees, the mattress support should be lowered. The higher levels make it easier to take your infant out of the crib, but they're dangerous when your child is able to pull themselves to a standing position.

The mattress support's level should be lowered as your baby grows. It should always be set to a level where they cannot climb out. By the time you child is able to pull to a standing position, the support should be at its lowest setting.

Once your child begins to climb or reaches 35" in height, we recommend that you cease using the crib or convert it to a toddler bed.

Features & Specs

DO YOUR CRIBS COME WITH MATTRESSES?

Our full-size cribs don't include mattresses. Mattresses must be purchased separately.

Our mini cribs come with a 1" mattress pad.

WHAT SIZE MATTRESS DO YOUR CRIBS TAKE?

Our cribs fit the standard crib mattress size.

All interior crib dimensions and mattress sizes are regulated by the CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission), and manufacturers are required by law to adhere to these standards. With that being said, some mattresses will fit better than others. Much of the reason for this is the varying density between mattresses.

By law, a crib mattress is required to be at least 27.25" x 51.625" when measured from binding edge to binding edge. The interior of a crib can be between 27.375" and 28.625" wide, and 51.75" and 53" long, depending on the manufacturer and crib style. This can result in some space between the mattress and the inside of the crib.

Firm mattresses will generally provide the snuggest fits as they do not compress as easily. Although a mattress may be slightly smaller than another, if it is denser it will likely fill the space better.

To determine if your mattress is a good fit, it is recommended that there should be no more than two fingers width, one inch, between the edge of the mattress and the crib side.

WHAT SIZE MATTRESS DO YOUR MINI CRIBS TAKE?

Our mini cribs fit a standard mini crib mattress size (approximately 38"x24") up to 3" thick.

With that being said, some mattresses will fit better than others. Much of the reason for this is the varying density between mattresses.

WHAT SIZE MATTRESS DO YOUR TODDLER BEDS TAKE?

Our toddler beds fit a standard crib mattress.

WHAT IS A 3-IN-1 CONVERTIBLE CRIB? A 4-IN-1?

Our 3-in-1 convertible cribs convert to a toddler bed and daybed.

Our 4-in-1 convertible cribs convert to a toddler bed, daybed, and full-size bed.

A conversion kit may need to be purchased separately to complete full-size bed conversions, as specified per item.

WHAT DOES 4-LEVEL MATTRESS SUPPORT MEAN?

"4-level mattress support" means that the crib has four height settings for the mattress support frame.

Materials & Construction

WHAT MATERIALS ARE YOUR FURNITURE MADE OF?

Most Babyletto full-size cribs are 100% solid New Zealand pine wood, with the exception of cribs with under drawers and solid side panels that are made from CARB II compliant MDF.

Our mini cribs are made of New Zealand pine wood and CARB II compliant MDF. MDF is used for the mattress support board.

Our dressers and changers are made of New Zealand pine wood and CARB II compliant MDF for the drawers.

New Zealand pine wood is one of the most sustainable and renewable wood resources, and its forests are expanding, increasing total wood production annually.

For any product that contains MDF, we are required by law to follow CARB (California Air Resource Board) regulations, which regulate and control formaldehyde emissions in MDF. CARB requires that our factories purchase their raw material from a certified MDF manufacturer. All MDF found in our products is from CARB certified manufacturers and is indeed safe.

WHAT FINISHES/PAINTS DO YOU USE?

Our paint is ultra-safe and all our products are lead, phthalate, and formaldehyde safe.

Paint is considered safe when it has toxic materials under 300 parts per million (ppm). In order for a company to claim low toxicity, it must have no more than 90 ppm. Babyletto products come in at less than 10ppm. We perform annual paint tests to maintain consistent quality.

Our full-size cribs are tested towards the latest CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) and ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) standards on a yearly basis. In addition to lead and phthalates, the labs also test for other heavy metals such as cadmium, antimony, chromium, mercury, and arsenic.

Additionally while there currently no regulations for VOCs, in baby's best interest we also test for VOC contents and the results are significantly low.

WHAT MATERIALS ARE YOUR GLIDERS AND ROCKERS MADE OF?

Our rockers and gliders are upholstered in water and stain-resistant microsuede or polyester-blend fabrics.

Base materials vary per product. Glider/rocker bases may be made from metal or wood; this is specified per product.

WHERE ARE YOUR PRODUCTS MADE?

Our furniture are manufactured under the highest standards in Taiwan.

All of our furniture is manufactured to meet voluntary ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) standards in addition to CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) regulations, and our full-sized cribs are tested quarterly to adhere to all guidelines.

Our Pure by Babyletto mattresses are made in Taiwan.

Safety & Certifications

WHAT ARE THE WARNING LABELS ON MY CRIB?

The labels contain important safety information and are required by law. The CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) has very specific laws regarding label size and placement, as well as the adhesive used to attach them. The warning labels cover numerous hazards, such as SIDs, falling, and strangulation.

Our cribs also have tracking labels, which show MDB as the manufacturer and important information such as the product's serial/PO number.

While we understand that the labels may be unappealing, we recommend against removing them. They contain vital safety information, and their removal will void the crib's warranty. Additionally, removing them may damage your product's finish.

WHY IS THERE A CA PROP 65 WARNING ON MY PRODUCT?

The products with this warning are pads, mattresses, and products that come with cushions or pad. In the case of cradles, mini cribs, and changers, the warning is in regards to the pad and not the furniture. We can assure you that all of our cribs and wooden furniture do not contain any of these chemicals. All of our cribs meet ASTM standards in addition to CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) regulations

For mattresses and pads, it is required by the state of California that we, as a manufacturer, inform the public of the possibility of the presence of the chemicals listed in the proposition. This is done through use of the Prop 65 warning label. The only way for us to not have this warning is to test for each of the 700+ chemicals listed.

However, we test all our products on a yearly basis to ensure that they are safe to use, and compliant with the most current voluntary standards and federal regulations. Rest assured that our pads and mattresses meet current CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) standards and CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act) 101 and 108. These acts regulate lead and phthalate levels in children's products, and all our products are lead and phthalate safe.

To learn more about CA PROP 65, please visit http://www.oehha.ca.gov/prop65/prop65_list/Newlist.html

WHAT IS THE WEIGHT LIMIT FOR YOUR CRIBS?

As every child grows at a different rate, it's mostly critical to pay attention to your child's height. We recommend that you convert your crib to a toddler bed or stop using your crib when your child begins to climb or reaches 35" in height.

For toddler bed conversions, the weight limit is 50 lbs.

For full-size bed conversions, the weight limit is 500 lbs.

WHAT IS THE WEIGHT LIMIT FOR YOUR MINI CRIBS?

As every child grows at a different rate, it's mostly critical to pay attention to your child's height. We recommend that you stop using your mini crib when your child begins to climb or reaches 35" in height.

WHAT IS THE WEIGHT LIMIT FOR YOUR CRADLES?

There's no maximum weight for our cradles as every baby grows at a different rate. We recommend to stop using the cradle when your baby is able to roll over, sit up, or push up onto their hands and knees.

WHAT IS THE WEIGHT LIMIT FOR YOUR GLIDERS AND ROCKERS?

The weight limit for our gliders and rockers is 300 lbs.

WHAT IS THE WEIGHT LIMIT FOR YOUR CHANGERS?

The weight limit for our changers is 30 lbs.

ARE YOUR CRIBS JPMA CERTIFIED?

Starting 2016, we have decided to phase out of the JPMA program in order to invest in more rigorous certifications, such as GREENGUARD Gold, that have become more relevant to consumers and industry experts.

We continue to meet and exceed industry standards for safety, including voluntary ASTM standards for all of our products. Additionally, our full-sized cribs meet Canadian standard SOR/2010-261. Our standard for safety has not changed.

We use an independent third party lab to test all of our products. To ensure our products continue to adhere to all guidelines, we retest 25% of our full-size crib models every quarter.

MY BABY HAS BEEN TEETHING ON THEIR BABYLETTO CRIB AND THE PAINT IS COMING OFF. IS YOUR CRIB SAFE?

We understand that when babies are teething, they will often chew on anything they can. Rest assured our finishes are non-toxic and will not harm your child. Our cribs meet CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) and ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) standards, and are lead, phthalate, and formaldehyde safe.

If you would like to avoid your child chewing on their crib, several companies manufacture crib rail protectors that you can purchase.

WHAT IS GREENGUARD GOLD?

The GREENGUARD Gold seal certifies that our furniture has been independently tested and verified to meet rigorous standards for chemical emissions and volatile organic compounds (VOCs), such as formaldehyde or phthalates.

GREENGUARD Gold offers some of the world's most rigorous and comprehensive standards for low emissions of VOCs into indoor air which can be a major source of indoor air pollution and may contribute to health problems in children such as asthma and allergies. Products carrying the seal have been tested for over 10,000 chemicals and more than 360 VOCs and certified as low-emitting by this independent, trusted 3rd party.

MY CRIB'S SPRING FRAME KEEPS TILTING, WHAT IS WRONG?

If the spring frame keeps tilting down when weight is placed in the sides/corners of the crib, it's likely that the spring frame is incorrectly installed.

In a correct installation, the bolts on the spring frame's arms should be higher than the frame's platform – i.e. the frame should be hanging from the arms, not sitting on top of them.

WHY ARE SCREW COVERS NOT INCLUDED WITH MY CRIB?

Your child's safety is our top priority. Screw covers can become loose and fall within baby's reach. We consider this to be a serious choking hazard, and so screw covers are not included with any of our products.

MY CRIB'S INSTRUCTION MANUAL SAYS THAT THE SPRING FRAME GOES "FLAT SIDE UP". WHAT IS THE FLAT SIDE OF THE SPRING FRAME?

"Flat side up" means as shown in this picture. Note that the spring hooks are facing down.
